House training the pup

Arghhhh, why can’t i train her? She is now 7 months old and we have had her since about 12 weeks, every time I go in the kitchen she has left me a present, it drives me mad! We have 2 other dogs and they are no bother, I can’t leave newspaper or training pads down as she just shreds them, i put her out every half hour or so and she will “go” outside!
I’m at the end of my tether with her, is she still too young to be properly trained?
She is a springer x beagle, very cute and very loving but i am starting to resent her!
Anyone got any tips they would like to share with me?

  1. No, she’s not too young! We have 2 springers – one is 9 months and was fully house trained by about 4 months. The younger pup is 12 weeks and she only pees & poos overnight. Just keep taking her out regularly, esp after food, sleep and play. Give her lots and lots of fuss after she goes outside, the more fuss the better as she will associate it with doing something to please you. It shouldn’t take long before she starts asking to go outside. When she does go inside, don’t talk to her or tell her off or even look at her – just put her in another room and clean up the mess. She only gets your attention when she has done good! Hope this helps, let us know how you get on 🙂

  2. Thank you very much for your comment, i am really trying not to give her the attention when she does it, im coming to the conclusion that it is a seperation issue with her, as soon as i leave the room she messes, grrr.
